Aeropress

Aeropress

IDEAL FOR: Versatile brewing

GRIND SIZE: Comparable to coarse ground pepper (setting 6 on an EK43 grinder).

COFFEE TO WATER RATIO: 55-60g/litre

PROCESS: (CLASSIC METHOD)

  1. Prepare your Aeropress by assembling it with a fresh filter, and pour hot water through to remove any paper taste and to warm up the brewer.
  2. Place 15g of finely ground coffee into the Aeropress, then position it filter-side down onto your cup.
  3. Add 250g of water heated to 90°C, stirring to thoroughly saturate the coffee grounds.
  4. Insert the rubber end of the plunger loosely into the Aeropress to prevent the coffee from dripping into the cup too soon.
  5. Let it sit for 1 minute, then remove the plunger and give it a quick stir.
  6. Reinsert the plunger and press gently, aiming for a pressing time of about 45 seconds.

SUGGESTION: This technique yields coffee with a drip filter strength, but the Aeropress is perfect for experimenting with various recipes, making brewing both accessible and enjoyable.
