IDEAL FOR: Producing crisp, clean coffee with excellent clarity

GRIND SIZE: Resembles "white sugar” (around 7-8 on the EK43 grinder)

COFFEE TO WATER RATIO: 60g/litre

METHOD:

  1. Start by rinsing the paper filter with boiling water. This step removes any paper taste and pre-warms the brewer.
  2. Measure 60g of medium-ground coffee per liter of water and place it into the moistened filter.
  3. Pour enough water over the coffee grounds to saturate them, allowing the coffee to "bloom."
  4. Once the foaming subsides, gradually add the remaining hot water in stages. Try to keep the brewer about half-full throughout the process.
  5. The brewing process should take around 5 minutes. If it takes longer or shorter, adjust the grind size accordingly; coarser grinds brew faster, finer grinds slower.

SUGGESTION: Brew directly onto a digital scale for precise measurement. It may seem cumbersome, but it ensures the perfect coffee-to-water ratio. Remember, 1ml of water weighs 1g.
