Article: V60

Pouring hot water over ground coffee in a V60 to brew a rich, flavourful cup of coffee.

V60

IDEAL FOR: Creating bright and clean brews with exceptional clarity.

GRIND SIZE: Similar to fine sand (setting 7-8 on an EK43 grinder).

COFFEE TO WATER RATIO: 60g/litre

PROCESS:

  1. Rinse a paper filter with boiling water to eliminate any paper flavor and warm up the brewer.
  2. Place 60g of medium ground coffee per litre of water into the dampened filter.
  3. Pour hot water over the grounds until they are just covered, allowing the coffee to "bloom."
  4. Once the bloom subsides, slowly add the remaining hot water in stages, ensuring the brewer stays about half full.
  5. The total brewing time should be around 5 minutes. If the brew time is off, adjust the grind size: coarser grinds result in faster brewing, while finer grinds slow it down.

SUGGESTION: Brew directly onto a digital scale – it might seem cumbersome, but it's the best way to get the perfect coffee-to-water ratio. Remember that 1ml of water is equivalent to 1g.
